I have a 06 F250 with towing mirrors. Another truck & I hit mirrors on a narrow country bridge. A hole was poked in the amber part of the lens covering the lights in the drivers side mirror. The lights work, I have a hole in the lens though. Are the lights or lens available for repiar without buying a whole new mirror? Any tips on where to locate them would be appreciated.
I had a similar problem...only mine was a birdstrike. I learned that you can't buy just the amber lens part...the lens is heat sealed or glued in. Then I learned that you can't just buy the amber LED portion...you have to buy the whole back cover which comes with the amber LED section. In my case, I have a King Ranch so I had to pay more to have the darn cover painted to match. The only good news is that now I have a painted spare drivers side back cover that's painted to match.
Just a note....some guys have gone out and bought the smoked lens for their amber section....that may be a cheaper option. I wound up paying about $100 bucks for my replacement...an a pal at a body shop took care of my paint job at a reduced rate.
