Newb here, ive got a silver 79 f 150. i want to do something custom with the dash. i was thinking of cutting a piece of diamond plate to replace the dash lens and putting some auto meter guages in it. just wondering what some of you have done or what youve seen that looks good but doesn't break the bank.
I did that with black lexan and Auto Meter guages for my uncle's Zepher. Came out pretty good. I can go out to the garage later on and get a photo of it if you like.

Welcome aboard;
Havn't seen the results yet; but got a local buddy; who's changing the entire interior too include dash to a Expedition interior in a 72 cab. Hope to take pic's and post one day.
Here's a couple pics I've come across and saved over the years. Not sure which setup I like best, but I will be figuring it out soon as I need to make something for my 74 crew when the diesel is done.
hey thanks a lot for the pics chasetruck74 i think that i am going to do something like the top or bottom picture. if i do it like the bottom one im gonna do it out ouf diamond plate it should look pretty good with my black dash
I really like the looks of the top one, but I think I have too many gauges to do that. Therefore I am looking at an option like the 2nd one down. My 3rd choice is similar to the bottom 2 pics.
So far my list of autometers is:
Pyrometer & Boost (most likely on pillar)
5" speedo
tach - most likely 5" - maybe one of the small 2 1/6" diesel tach's
Fuel level
Amps/Volts (unsure which yet)
Water temp
Oil Temp
Oil Press.
