Where can i get a grille guard that i can mount a winch on?
Riley,
The best place to look for those kind of items is to search through some of the off road magazines,
Petersons Off Road, and 4 Wheelin magazines are both good for full size trucks. The first manufacturer that come to mind though is Warn, They make a complete line of bumpers and mounts and they are very affordable and well built. I beleive they have a web site at www.warn.com. Ramsey and Superwinch also have products available. For complete bumpers Ruenell has a very nice line of products, they are a bit more pricey though, figure about $850 and up(and you can go way up) for complete bumpers. Later,
Jeff

Unless you find the biggest, baddest, grill guard out there I would not put a winch on it. The grill guard has to be attached to either the bumber or the frame. If you put a winch on at grill height (if you ever use it) it will toqrue your bumper off or, if attached to the frame, rip the grill guard off. You would have to mount it very low for any kind of serious use. I would consider attaching it to a sturdy bumper that is built for that sort of thing.

i agree with the texas outfitters they make some really strong bumpers.there was a 99 F250 slam into the side of a chevy caprice 84 model and the whole side of the car was caved in and the girl driving was killed.(sad).but the truck did not have one dent in it and the bumper didnt even bend.if that aint tuff i dont know what is.the truck was traveling at 40+ mph. i myself like the chrome bumpers.warn has a enforcer winch bumper which i have on my 78 its a very good bumper. alot more than i thought it would be.expensive to.

Make sure you use a good welder though! not one of thoes cracker jack box ones. 150A+ should do it....just make sure you get good beads and lay enough metal in and you are good to go...helps to make a cardboard model first then soap stone it to the metal and torch it....just some hints...just got done building a rear bumper for a guy and you aint going to put any dents in that dude....k im done.
