Question Few More Questions?

Hey guys,Im sorry for all the questions but im trying hard to learn about these diesels since this is my first one and I want it to last me a long time.I see that all of you all have the 6637 filters. Is there a reason? Because the MAC cold air kit I bought off a bud a work for 100 dollars and I think the filter is K&N. Plus Do you all add any oil addatives when you all change your oil? Also will this Hypertech programmer 3 I got for 100 dollars gunna hurt my truck? I see you all running DP turners.Im not looking to make it a hotrod jus a lil bit more power than stock.Last question Do you all add anything to the fuel in summer/winter times?

Plus Do you all add any oil addatives when you all change your oil? No oil additives are needed, just use quality oil like Rotella T 15w-40 or 5w-40 synth. Also will this Hypertech programmer 3 I got for 100 dollars gunna hurt my truck? No I see you all running DP turners. Better than the hypertech - it's custom tuned for your mods of your truck - not off-the-shelf tunes. Im not looking to make it a hotrod jus a lil bit more power than stock. Same here and love my DP! Last question Do you all add anything to the fuel in summer/winter times? I add Diesel Kleen white bottle in the winter, I started to add the 2-stroke oil for a while but notice no difference other than a quieter motor.
My answers/opinions above in bold.

As for your KN filter, get it out they are junk. Do the 6637 mod, well worth it.
Oil additives are owners preferance, myself I run no additives.
Hypertech ?able.
Fuel additives lots to choose from, I use 2 cycle oil (1oz oil to 1gal fuel) in summer
I run Powerservice fuel additive in winter.

More will chime in.

I was working on answering your questions, but Chris gave the same answers I was going to give you. The only thing that he didn't cover is the 6637. This filter is less expensive then most filters and filters great for out 7.3. Here is a pic of the 6637 with Pete's filter cover on it.

If I didn't have the Ford AIS, This is what I would have - right down to the cool cover.

Shouldn't hurt it, might consider gauges though just to monitor everything. It won't give you the amount gain a DP would, but will add some SOTP and power

The DP changes the pressures for the transmission to shift better for the power. I don't know if your tuner does this. You will have an off the shelf tuner that will work with many years trucks. The DP is custom tuned for your truck with the equipement on your truck. It also takes into account the mods you have. When you get injectors, that tuner will not work anymore.

Do it right, do it once.

Get some gauges, hypertech is very conservitive tuning and you should be fine. But with the stock exhaust there can be some higher EGT's.
