I love Farmland's Applewood Smoked bacon! Yummy! And I can get it at the grocer's for just under 4 bucks. I am a bacon LOVER. Could easily eat a whole pound by myself.
I've not tried any of those brands, Jake....but my breakfasts usually consist of eggs or an omelet......with bacon or sausage.....
Oscar Meyer......Can't go wrong.....It's just good---period......
But a brand that is a little cheaper than OM....and surprisingly good......is Gwaltney hickory-smoked bacon......That's not-too-bad-s--t, Sportsfans........for about $3.99/lb........OM usually runs the high $4s to the low $5s.........
Quick 3-strips on the cast-iron skillet......Toss on some butter, and over-easy eggs......That's it......Then to work!
Sounds like what I would want for breakfast on a camping trip.... or country ham and grits with 2 over easy eggs on top of some toast with red eye gravy poured all over it........Yummy yum yum..........
Wright's Brand Bacon. Prob'ly available only in the south. Bought up by Tyson in 90s but still produced in Texas. One of few companies that actually hickory smoke rather than using "liquid" smoke. Very thick & meaty.

Love that stuff too!
Farmland went belly up in 2002, but was bought out by Smithfield. They kept the name (and the Wallyworld contracts) even though they were arch competitors. Amazing back then that such a big co-op could go bankrupt, but not so uncommon nowadays.
