No Supercab
Well i went to go get the title to the 78 sc i bought, but the owner couldnt come up with it, and since i need it to drive to and from work he bought it back from me for $700. Well Guess what i found on the way home and is now sitting in my driveway. I found a 79 f100 auto 302 reg cab. Got it for $400 so i got lucky. it runs great, drives great, and is quiet (mixed emotions on that one, lol) Well ill post pics of it when i get a chance to take pics. im just glad i got a chance to find it so i can stay with this forum, it has been the most informative that i have found. thanks to all.
has anyone had issues with the kickdown linkage not allowing tranny to go into 3rd? its a 3 speed auto and it does seem to not want to shift into the high gear though, but it still drives wonderful.

yea a little bit of a trade off, i lost the supercab and the 3/4 ton but the body is alot better. i figured out that it was shifting right i just wasnt paying that much attention to it.
so fro 300 less i feel i got a better truck

well i would like to have that extra grunt, but i also plan on giving it to the oldest when he gets to start driving next year. so the 302 will be plenty. gives us an opertunity to work on it and get his input on what he would like to do to it. he doesnt know about that yet.

First time out
Well,
Today was the first time out with the ol girl and she did great (18 miles each way to work) I did discover a fuel leak at the accelerator pump, so i rebuilt the 2bbl and she woke up a bit. Need to go out and get a set of throttle return springs, u-joints, and figure out why my dash lights arent working 
, but thats what weekends are for. She did 70 like it was nothing, i think i lucked out when i found this truck. i look forward to everybodys oppinion and helpful information.
Just thought of a question,
Did ford use bucket seats in another truck that will bolt inplace of the bench?? since it is a reg cab i was thinking of doing a pair of buckets and a custom center console. Has anyone done something similar?

I know some of the early 90's Supercabs had bucket seats in them, Unless the one i saw was custom, but it looked original.

well i get to drive it in the mean time so it should be nice, and if he doesnt get his crap together he wont be getting it. was thinking of rebuilding the 302, putting an edelbrock performer intake on it and making it a 4bbl. Then rebuilding the trans with a shift kit and making it a get up and go fast truck, then i can always detune it for him, 
. i know i need to get some throttle return springs and adjust the set screws on the carb more but it did alot better today than it did yesterday. seems to take forever to shift into high gear though, am wondering if the loose spring for the kickdown linkage might have anything to do with it. Now i also need to figure out why heaters not working. just blows cold air, but coolant is getting to the heater core (pulled off a heater line and coolant came out. i dont think its pressurised however but that is an easy fix with a new radiator cap.
