Detecting a programmer
Just wondering how a dealership detects a programmer after you uninstall it. My truck has a sticker on it saying that the computer was reflashed by Ford. So when they plug in theyre tester will it just show that or is there a time stamp on it also?

I'm not sure exactly how they can tell, but I do know that when you flash the computer it resets the miles since last flashed, warm up count, etc. in the computer. But this also happens when you disconnect the batteries. I've also heard they can tell when the motor is apart if there is any staring effect on the pistons from the injectors.

from what i heard is that computer records certain things(like black box), and noone except Ford under certain circumstances can recall all the info, like increased power, and oter things. plus a good tech can tell all that when taking it apart. so if you running one you better know the tech who is going to work on your truck, and Take care of him.....

I good tech will take care of you if you are up front and honest with him. Lie to him and when he tears the heads off and sees that nice star pattern on top of the pistons, who knows what will happen.
