Seat latch problem 96 psd

OK guys.........so I've got a 96 F250 the front seat is a bench with the 50/50 split for the backs of the seats. The drivers side latch.......the one you life to fold the seat forward has broke........it seems like the wire or whatever is inside the latch has snapped and I can't get my seat to fold forward.........

How do you fix this, how do you get to it............how about some help from those that have gone before.

Mike, I have never experience this particular problem but from hanging around auto upholstery shops I would think that you need to unbolt the seat and remove it.

Once out of the truck, turn it over and I suspect that you will be able to see where the problem lies and you will be able to find a solution to the problem and repair it.

Good Luck,

Rog

I posted an answer to this yesterday...hmmm? wonder where it went?
Maybe I'm losing my mind.....good possibility

No need to remove the seat from the truck
There is a control cable that may need adjustment from stretching or it's broke.

The seat back needs to come off:
Unclip J-strap on the seat back cover.... remove.
Reach in between the foam and frame to locate the bowden cable adjuster.
Turn the adjuster to create a maximum gap of 1/8 inch between the latch pawl and striker.
Replace cover; refasten J-straps on the front seat back cover

The Picture doesn't show much detail but should help you
get your hand on the adjuster.

1 Adjuster Bowden Cable
2 Front Seat Back Frame
3 Bowden Cable
4 Front Seat Back
