396 is a more rare then not engine, but still that doesnt make it priceless!

I dont get restoring a wagon and trying to get that kinda cash outta it either.

I don`t know how rare the 396 actually is, possibly they were used in the medium duties such as gravel, delivery and grain trucks from what I`ve heard.

the 396 was used in a few years of nova's, chevelle's and such, usually in the SS396 format...

the 396's were great in one way. their rating made them think they could beat a CJ 428 mustang. they found out in a hurry... they couldnt.

Yeah they definatly werent a 428cj, but they did do pretty good, they were no slouch.
