Tranny Stick shift..
I have a 1988 F-150 4.9, M5OD tranny. I have over 270,000 miles on this, bought it in 1992. Best vehicle ever owned. I have driven it everywhere since, hauled loads of wood so large that Chevys would cry. But, where the stick shift enters the the tranny, there is a retaining cap. This cap must at one time had a rubber bushing of some sort to hold some down pressure on the shift stick. My bushing is gone for the most part and the shifter has a lot of play up and down therefore. Any one know the proper name, some sort of part number possibly? Thanks.
