starting issues

I have a 1987 f250 6.9 N/A
167,000 on the ticker

When I go to start it it seems as if it has to have the glowplugs. I live in south florida. If I sycle the plugs once in the morning it shouldnt need another cycling again right?

Also the truck has started to smoke badly. I replaced the fuel return lines as they were leaky. I then put it all back to gether and now its smoking even more. Help?
I think I need new injectors because from the looks of the engine bay everything is original.
Help me out fellas! Thanks for your knowledge in advance.
Vinny

Never hurts to use the GPs for a short burst (5 seconds) unless you just shut it off. If the coolant guage is registering 1/4 or more there should be no need to use GPs.

When you replaced the fuel lines did you do the full return line kit or just replace the rubber lines..... old orings will not seal correctly and old caps can distort allowing air intrusion. Fuel drainoff and hard starting happens until the IP is full of fuel again.

Parts....
( return line kits/ injector install kit )

Glow plugs even on warm days if the engine has not been run for several hours, save the starter.
