I'm new with a 4x4
I've been reading the posts and am learning more than I could've imagined. I do have a question. I just purchased a 1984 F-150 with a 351W and a NP435. When I got home with it, the driver side hub lock was turned half way between locked and free. The passenger side was set to free. I drove about 30 miles like this without knowing. Will this or could this have hurt anything?

Since the other side was not engaged I would assume that you are okay. No binding in the axle would have taken place. You could do a simple test to see if it was even engaged. Just jack up that side and put the hub where you found it. Spin the tire, if the axle doesn't spin, then you weren't even locked on that side for the 30 miles. Either way I wouldn't worry about it.
