ABS Problems

I bought the 2002 Excursion two week's ago and the abs light has been coming on intermittently. Also the speedo goes nuts, and when the light comes on when you have the cruise control on it will kick off the cruise control. I've read the threads and did change out the rear VSS sensor, and still have the abs light. I removed the front abs speed sensor's and cleaned them off then I cleaned out both sides of the sensor pig tails and still have the light. Now I find when I have the Ex in the garage running I can hear and feel the abs module going on and off. When the abs light comes on a few seconds latter the abs pump will charge. I know this isn't right but I need to pull codes. Without my snap on mt 2500 scanner I cant do this. I'm pretty much laid up after a motorcycle accident and have a broken tibia with a nice L shaped piece of stainless still in my bone and six gnarly screws in it. I'm done crawling around due to the pain. Anyone had this happen? I'm sure it's bad news like take to the ford shop and bend over. No there good guys, and I know a few of them but still I'm sure it's gonna cost a bunch. I am on temporary disability and have been reduced down to having to drink watered down domestic beer. That's the real tragedy here. Any help will be kindly accepted.
