steering damper
Ok Guys going for a steering damper, I have the 2000 superduty 4 wheel drv. Gas powered. with stock wheels and tires
wondering 1st of all should I go with the single or double kit.
and 2nd what brand ?
I have some vib at 32-34 MPH. from what I have been told replacing the stock damper will GREATLY improve the steering. and maybe resolve the issue

If you have a vibration at a certain speed that is constant, a steering stabilizer won't help that. It might MASK the problem, but it won't make it go away.
I'd make sure the tires are balanced, and maybe even get them balanced ON the vehicle.
But definitely cure that issue before doing anything else.

well that is the issue. the truck is new to me. it has 72,000 miles the tires are new and they have been balanced. never herd of doing it while on the truck. the Vib only happens between 32 and 34 MPH.
I was afraid of spending a ton of money trying to make this go away.

yeah, like art said - fix (or at least identify) the vibration, then add the stabilizer. The vibration indicates there's a problem - something is out of round or out of balance - you don't want to be ignoring that...

Sometimes it certainly can be hard to find the problem. The "good" news is that the worse it gets, the easier it is to find...

yea, had wheels balanced, checked ball joints, tie rod ends, greesed up everything, checked shocks, now going for a replacement on the damper..
a few have informed me this could be the issue.
to be honest I really dont see how, but I'm gonna giv it a try...
will keep everyone posted on how much spent and what I find....
who thinks I can do this for 1,000.00 ?
