My latest acquisition...

There's a couple of "down sides" to it though. One is that it has spent 18 winters on Indiana and Illinois salted roads, so some metal work and paint is definitely in the future.
The other is the circumstances behind my acquiring of it. This was my Dad's truck and it was his pride and joy. A year ago last June he suffered a massive stroke that left him a total invalid, destined to live the rest of his life in a nursing home, uncapable of doing anything for himself. Not only is he now incapable of walking or doing much of anything with his hands, but he can't speak or communicate with us in any understandable way. Knowing my Dad, I imagine he would consider this a fate worse than death, and I can't help but shed tears after every visit I have with him. I bought his truck from my Mom, with every intention of "returning it to it's former glory". Kind of my way of "keeping the flame", knowing how Dad felt about this truck. I don't know if that's psycologically good, bad, or indifferent, but I really feel it's what I need to do. Wish me luck!
