tranny/DP ?

While running in 80 economy, when my truck shifts to overdrive it seems to be shifting alot earlier than when running stock. It will still get up and go but it feels like shifting a manual trans into fifth gear about 20mph early. Is this normal?

I know that my shift points have change, but I don't think it's that much, Be a really long time since it went to stock. I know my TC is locking earlier and gears are shifting sooner and I LIKE IT. Is it a problem?

Jody uses the stock shifting strategy in the 80 Econo. Could be that your are feeling the TQ lockup right before going into OD.

Its not a problem, just seemed a little strange to me. After I put the DP in I only drove it for a week and then went on a trip. Since I got back I dont remember quite how it was driving for the one week and was just unsure on the shifting.

Could be but I can also feel and here the engine rpms go way down and almost feel like it is just lugging along, unless I give it more throttle then it goes.

Diane says there's no differance, so there's not. I know mine feels like it shifts sooner than I remember, but like I said, it has been a while since I tried stock.

Thanks for your input Diane, I do appreciate it and I think DP's product is great. I have been trying to convince coworkers to do the same but they usually wait for about a year after I do something to see the results.

Yes. Shift points are based off of speed and throttle position. It may be feeling like its different in the 80 Econo because you are getting to OD quicker.

Jody can customize it for if you don't like it.

I think it is fine the way it is I was just curious if it was normal. But if you are out my way in the future I may look for some live tuning.

First what do you do with your truck? Second talk to to Jody and Diane and they will set you up with what you need. They will not try to sell you extra, just what you need. I have no start, stock, 60 tow, decell, 80 economy. I did not need any of the smoke or race tunes and felt this covered the basic driving and towing needs for me.

Wish I'd never waited! The F350 has SS injectors so - modified stock, hi-idle, 40tow high-altitude, 60tow, 80econo and 100 FUN (had 120, but didn't like smoke not clearing up w/the SS's). The Ex has stock, hi-idle, 80e and 100.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Thanks again Jody and Diane!

Now I see there is Drive Thru and Decel options too! And F-16?? Time for an upgrade?
