Alright ive done a little bit of research on cv axles. There for a Kia... Spectra i think...
Just wondering how hard they are to do, im fairly competent with a wrench. Just wondering how many people have done it, and how hard it is to do...
Im talking about replacing the CV axles... Thanks you for the info
Don't know about the KIA but Ford's isn't hard to do unless the car tries to fall on ya. On the Ford's I put a gear puller wedged between the axle and transmission, tighten and tap till it pops loose.
Ok... Just didnt want to get into anything over my head.... Having to have special tools and be able to hold 500 needle bearings in place while installing the cv axle... or anything wild like that...
Its easy! TIP: Loosen the nut on your end shaft while the tire is on the ground unless you are using air tools. Much easier to get it loose than after you get the tire off.
Take wheel off. Brake caliper off. Rotor off. remove nuts on upper and lower ball joint nuts,(I replace upper and lower ball joints while Im at it). Dont know it yours is a half shaft or full shaft, either pull it out of the transaxle like ericsmith said or unbolt it if its a half shaft. clean up your mess and put it back together! WALA.........yer dun!
