I need to take the dash cover off to change out a bulb but I can't get the radio out. I made the "special tool" needed to remove the radio. The pins go into the holes and lock but the radio refuses to slide out. Could it be that my pins do not have a large enough diameter to get the 'locks' to release the radio...
I'm at a loss and a stand still until I can get'er out.
HELP
Well I got a brass welding rod that was larger in dia. than the rire I was using. Cut it into 4 sections, rounded the ends and slid it into the 4 holes. It locked in but the radio still doesn't come out. I may have to get the wifes car and head to Advance auto or Auto Zone for the real tool.
I hate it when a hour and a half job turns into an ALL day job!!!
I could have taken the rear end out of my Yota by now and I can't even get the darn radio out of the SD...oh well, I'll keep trying.
I finally got'er OUT.
I found that I had to apply just a little bit of pressure, pushing OUT on the 4 rods, as I slid the radio out of the track. Now to check out that bulb!!
Thanks again everyone.
