The Lone Pine Film Festival - Lone Pine, California U.S.A October 10-12, 2008 Celebrating The Lone Ranger, Wagon Train and "Writers of the Purple Sage"

On this day in 1932 - Iraq was admitted into the League of Nations leading Britain to terminate their mandate over the nation. Britain had ruled Iraq since taking it from Turkey during World War I.
(So as far as I'm concerned, we can blame this whole Iraq mess on the British.)
On this day in 1974 - Frank Robinson took over the management position of the Cleveland Indians baseball team. He was the first black manager in Major League Baseball.
On this day in 1990 - The Berlin Wall was dismantled eleven months after the borders between East and West Germany were dissolved. The unification of Germany ended 45 years of division.
(Thank You Ronald Reagan)
And as one conflict subsides, another steps up to take it's place - On this day in 1990 - Iraqi President Saddam Hussein made a visit to Kuwait since his country had seized control of the oil-rich nation.
On this day in 1995 - O.J. Simpson was acquitted of the 1994 murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald L. Goldman.
And in another miscarriage of justice, on this day in 1997 - U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno said she had found no evidence that U.S. President Clinton had broken the law with White House coffees and overnight stays for big contributors.
On this day in 2003 - Ray Horn, of the duo "Siegfried & Roy," was attacked by tiger during a performance. Roy survived the attack after being dragged offstage.
(Dang, 5 years already?)<!a>
And in the "Things we won't ever see again" category,
1946 - "A Day in the Life of Dennis Day" began airing on NBC-TV.
1954 - "Father Knows Best" began airing on CBS-TV.
1955 - "Captain Kangaroo" premiered on CBS-TV.
1955 - "The Mickey Mouse Club" premiered on ABC-TV.
1961 - "The Dick Van Dyke Show" debuted on CBS-TV.
So, how many honorary Mousketeers do we have here? How many just had the hots for Annette?
