its quite unfortunate your so far away, im constantly seeing 351w on craigslist goin for like 300 bucks...
Ive thought about picking one up and building it up some, but i just dont got the space right now..
Thanks Trucker
The longfields dont seem to be that pricey so I just may have to look into them and go that route.
As for the 351W's going for $300 I may just have to find out the next time my cousin has a run down that way and have to deadhead home and hop a ride with him as annoying as the ride will be. I know he gets down that way every few months or so
Are you running 36s at the mud bog? I'll be running 36 TSLs this spring in the street class mud bog at Dennis Anderson track in NC. The front is open and rear will be locked. I'll be up against 40's in the street class. Its just for fun, I'm not built to win.
yup running 36" tsl's and the only complaint I have with them is after sitting in the garage for a week is they flat spot pretty good but after about 10 miles or so they seem to balance out. It's just that first 10 miles that will vibrate your teeth out.
Where we run its all in fun nothing timed and only 3 different pits with different depths of mud ranging from about a foot and a half of mud for the smaller trucks and to see if your fixes worked from the previous week to holy ***** batman he's got 60" ag's on there and hes buried but that one actually has a payout that increases weekly if no one makes it thru
Ok after searching for a 351w to replace the burned up 302 at a reasonable price I stumbled across a running 460 out of a late 70's lincon town car and a c-6 tranny for cheaper then dirt
Whats it going to take to squeeze it into the truck (88 f250) where the 302 used to be other then rearrangeing the moter mounts and massaging the firewall a little to make it fit. any extra gusseting/support I need to do and where. will the B/W transfer case still work
I'm still planning on running the sas dana 44 for now until i come across the d60 thats cheaper then i paid for my house but i'm only running 36's and in mud so hopefully it holds up until then if not gonna have to run chromo's.
I know this question is better suited for the other part of the fourm but who wants to trust those that run 6" blocks as lift kits thats why i come here not there
oh and the dude that is selling the moter and trans is also trying to sell me a ttb for $50 telling me how great they are Just had to laugh at him and tell him i didnt need it that someother poor soul may need it more the me
The motor will fit fine, but you'll need a flywheel and Clutch for the 460 to mate with your zf trans. A '70 460 huh.... in stock form, the B/W case will probably hold.
Thanks for the help... Not to worried about the MPG's. It's strictly a play truck, only time it sees the road is once a week to hit the local playground about 5 miles down the road anything farther then that she's trailer bound for the ride. To many hassles around here for getting mud on the road coming off the trail
