Still in the middle of delivering mine (my kids'). My pack will be financially set this year after our popcorn sale if all the funds come in. Really nice to be able to have one big fundraiser and then be done.

Ah, Boy Scout popcorn! I remember that like yesterday, going to every house in the neighborhood getting sales, delivering them in the snow, etc. My best year was over $500. I was always the highest or second highest in sales in my troop.

I got my Eagle in 99.

I didn't even know there were any boy scouts left. Glad to see they are surviving.

I'm ashamed to say, I don't know. My Grandson just started this year so he must be just above Cub Scout. I'm my defense, he lives in Alaska and I'm on the East Coast so we can't be as close as I'd like.

BUT I'M GOING TO CALL AND FIND OUT!

I'm sorry you don't get to see him more often. I forgot to say that those were the requirements I have left for the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting, it is a very tough trail to follow, but it will pay off in the end. Encourage your grandson to stay with it, cause he'll learn a lot of useful things that aren't taught anywhere else anymore.

It sounds like good advice, I'll take it.

Congrats on Eagle in order yet? Soon? Hang in there.

Yeah I got my eagle when I was 16 (two years ago). My parents said I couldn't get my liscense until I got my eagle, so that was good motivation. We never sold popcorn, we always had a christmas tree lot. I've got memories of sitting in a 12x6 trailer listening to Frank Sinatra's Christmas Album on the pos tape player we had. It sucked at the time, but it's not so bad when you look back on it. Another thing my troop did was paint a house for $2000, that was a pretty good deal. I can't say I really enjoyed scouts, but now that I'm out I'm glad I stuck with it, because it's already made me contacts here in college.
