new knocking noise?
Hello, This is my first post. I have a 99 f-250 5.4l 4x4 light duty. The truck has 147k miles on it and I get a knocking noise when it's warmed up and under load. I would like to know if anyone has had the same issue and how it can be repaired. Thanks for the help. Sorry if I missed a similar post.

Sounds to me like the engine is running slightly lean, possibly due to an intake leak. Sometimes the leaks open up when the engine heat, they often do the opposite too. If you have a leak, it can cause the engine to generally run lean, or for specific cylinder to get more air than others, when can increase combustion temperatures to the point where knocking occurs.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to do a few things to make it run better. I changed the plugs and cleaned the maf last week with the help of this site. I'll check for an intake leak next. I'm just hoping the engine is not going. Thanks again.
