Egr Mess.....
hey i have a 2001 f150 4x4 5.4L
i keep getting the same two codes code P0401 Insufficient EGR Flow and P402 "excessive EGR flow. i've had the intaKe off n cleaned all the carbon i've replaces the dfpe and the EGR vac solenoid i've had the egr valve off n check it . i dont know what else to do this has been driveing me nuts for months i hope someone can help me thanks

Have you checked the wiring and connector to the DPFE? When you say that you checked the EGR did you apply vacuum and it ran rough?
If you a sure you've checked everything, I would talk to a Ford service manager about a reflash. I had a code for a IAT that would not go away and I followed the shop manual to the T and finally took it to the dealer and got them to wave the diagnostic charge of $95 and just do the flash.

are the egr tube hoses disconnected or leaking? I just went through an ordeal with my egr tube, ended up putting new headers and egr tube, but temporarily, I blocked off the egr and accidentaly left the hoses unhooked, and got the 0401. Id see if those hoses are good.
