Thank you for all valuable info here, incredible! Here is one of my problems.
The very bottom of the top section tail gate(glass with rear wiper) has a plastic trim piece that incorporates handle n lock cylinder which is gouging the top of my barn doors to the point they will need extensive repair! Has anyone had this problem and rectified it with either upper tail gate height adjustment or barn door adjustment? Looks like I'll need an 1/8 of an inch. It seems to be quite a job either way getting all guides and dome light switches aligned.
Thanks for all the help in advance! Many more tech questions to follow after some heavy reading of forum!
Some have taken the inside panel off from the glass door and adjusted the plastic pc that your talking about. They had the outer edge of it wearing out the paint.
What I ran into is the rubber pc on the the inside edge of the glass door rubbing, and the outside corners of the glass rubbing on the bottom barn doors. I ended up adjusting the glass door up on the one side and took care of the problem.
If you take the inside top trim pc off, you will be able to get to the inside of the bolts, open the glass door, and you'll see the top side of the bolts. You need to loosen the middle smaller of the bolts first, and then the other two. Then be able to raise the hinge to sit higher. A second set of hands is almost necessary. I also used a wooden block to be able to hit the hinge up, and adjusted about an 1/8 in. You will also need to check that the latches catch properly after adjusting the door. You can adjust the catches on the door and on the vehicle to line things up.(I learned the hard way that if you don't, the dome lights stay on and the battery goes flat overnight.)
When I had my truck in teh body shop they noticed my window rubbing on the top of my passenger side rear door. Rubbed a nice lil line into the paint. They adjusted the glass part free of charge for me. They also said its a LOT heavier then it looks once you get those hsocks off so you can adjust it properly!
My barn doors don't line up properly. My pass. side is a little higher than driver side. Is there a way to adjust the barn doors to make them even again so the glass doesn't hit the pass. side anymore???
