Keyless Entry/Alarm
I just did the key on 5 times thing and found out my truck does have keyless entry('99 f250). I've been wanting keyless entry for a while and I'v been thinking about getting an alarm with keyless entry, but cant afford much of an alarm. Did any of these trucks come with a factory alarm, and if so how do I know if mine has one? Also, if I just decide to do the factory keyless entry, what key fob do I need? Theres lots on ebay for cheap, but is there a certain code or anything I need for my year model? Its an early '99 if that helps.

I payed about $125 for my replacement VSM (vehicle Security Module) and I was paying like 5 over cost because we had a resale account. The VSM I have does not do an alarm. You can get into an alarm for that or cheaper. I put in a high end remote start/alarm a couple of months ago that I payed $220 for.
DEI should have several options in the $100 range. Then if you are decent with installations, you can install it in an evening. I took a couple of days to do mine, but I wanted some different options and very clean install. Pick up an alarm and I'll help you out as much as I can on the install.

If you go to the parts dept at ford and give them your vin, they can pull up what options u have. I have an 06 that has a red blinking light i thought was a security alarm. Come to find out it was just the anti theft for the key.
