86 F250 4x4
I've been watching the 4x4 ads lately and came across a not bad 86 F250 4x4 with the 460, auto, and 90k miles. The owner said he used the truck to tow a 5 ton trailer from Oregon to Arkansas. It doesn't appear to have been taken off road much the best I can tell. My question is what is least desirable: a truck that has towed heavy trailers but hasn't been off road much OR one that has spent most of it's life off road and hasn't been used for heavy towing?

A truck well used but not worn out, pulling may have added stress to the rear springs there will be less arch in them and the rear differential may have added fatigue, good thing though is it was a 3/4 ton made to handle that load, your fine maybe the tranny and t-case will be a little loose 90k milesa is a short life so far. Its a good truck look it over for signs of excessive abuse.
