Right parts please!!
get an aftermarket part that i dont have to modify. I am working on lowering and bagging my 68 and having trouble getting parts that work. The flip kit i ordered that is suppose to fit my truck(they actually called after i ordered it to make sure what year truck i had) I had to cut a 1/2 inch off of each side to make it fit now the u-bolts need about another inch of threads(nut bottoms out before tight). I am gonna hit the parts house tomorrow morning
early hopefully they have what i need. When i get the axle bolted on i can start my c-notch.
That seems to go with almost every side project I have ever started!!!
I was thorughly excited when I put on my blinker switch W/ wires that I had ordered through LMC with no problems and a quick install (45 min).
Unless you have seen a truck show install the said item on YOUR truck....
Its most likely to not work!!
Good luck

The partsman's lament.
I work behind the counter, in an automotive store.
Sometimes I'm called a genius, sometimes I'm called much more.
I'm supposed to know the numbers, of bolts, nuts and gears...
...for every Ford that was ever made for more than 70 years.
I claim I'm not a mechanic, but when the job gets sick...
...the mechanic comes and asks me, what makes the darn thing tick.
But..life would be a pleasure, and I'd grin from ear to ear...
...if the customer would only tell me, the MAKE, MODEL and YEAR!
=================================================
100's of questions are asked here on FTE every day. Some peeps post not a single shred of evidence of what they are a workin' on.
No year, no model, no engine size, no nothing!
Then they wonder why no one answers.

They must think we're all mindreaders!
