hi! i`ve got a 1982 F100 4x4, and i blew up the back diff on it. i`ve been told that it`s a limited slip diff, but it doesn`t sound right to me to have a l s d diff on a pick-up vehicle that`s 4x4.can someone out there tell me whether you can have a lsd on it and how it affects the truck when i`d go off-road ? thanks

On a limited slip rear axle, when one tire starts spinning the axle locks the axle shafts together and makes both tires spin. This greatly increases traction.
