OEM VS Aftermarket spark plugs for 05 5.4l f250

I have a 05 f-250 and I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with using aftermarket spark plugs in there truck. i just called the dealer ship and they told me the plugs would be 17 bucks a piece!!! that is crap. i also read that its a pain in the butt to change them. Any and all help is much needed thank Corey

I put the Champion's in my truck a couple of months ago and I have had no problems so far. Mine came out with no problems, I had 43,000 miles on my truck, at the time. I put marvel Mystry oil in every tank, for a month prior. I don't know if it helped, but mine came out with no problems. Its not that hard of a job, its just a pain, with the truck so high off the ground, you'll have to lay accross the engine to get the back ones, though.

The Motorcraft plugs were made by Autolite for Ford. So I'm sure you can go with the Autolite (double platnum) with no issues. I've heard/read some bad things about the Bosch plugs however.

Here, this should be some good reading for you, especially that second link.

Bosch dosen't make plugs for the 5.4l 3v engines in the 05 F250's. Currently their are only Motorcraft, AutoLites, which are 2 peice OEM plugs. And Champions, which are a one peice design, and Denso may have one now.

3V spark plugs are expensive because of the design. (Large plug too) Put in Motorcrafts and be done with it, you know the truck will run right with them. There are some things you shouldn't cheap out on. Just be glad you only have 8 to replace.
