I got a 1989 f350. I got LMC and national parts depot. Where else do you get your parts from? Online? I was looking for prebent brake lines, National on backorder and no idea when they will get them, LMC does not go up to the 350 and not sure if the 250 lines will work. Staight axle with king pins.
Looking the fast way out by going prebent. Does anyone know what size lines and how much I'll need? I was looking to do all the lines,
Its easy to make them your self, prebent will be a pain to install as the rear ones go behind the tanks. I just redid all the ones on my 95. Line is 3/16's how much you need depends on what lines your doing. The rear maybe 10ft, the fronts maybe 5 ft. Now for ur info Ford uses bubble flares on some of there lines or master cyl, now mine didnt have them but some I have done did, so if are doin the lines yourself, take the old out and look at the flare. I get a roll of 25" at the local parts store when I do alot of lines.
Dealer for specific parts relating to suspension since not to many aftermarket places carry them.
Autozone for basic stuff like Battery, Brakes, Fluids, etc.
I plan on getting a fuel sending unit and pump for my 96 from LMC since the Dealer wants over 400 clams for the assembly. LMC has it for less than 200.
Normally I deal with Murrays, Autozone, Pepboys, and Advance auto.
I have gone to the boneyard to get some parts in the past and even replaced my a/c compressor with a matched scrapyard item. Worked better than the original did.
When replacing fuel lines and brake lines, Always go with stainless. It may be more expensive but lasts forever. I've always bent my own as well and did my own flaring for the connections.
i have a complete prebent brake line kit from a company i hate that did not fit my 89 f350...i tried to return it and they refused delivery and still have the box in my garage...let me know if your interested
If I'm buying new I go to Westcan Auto parts here in Kamloops but if I'm buying used I go to Empire used auto parts or drive the 2 hours to Pick-N-Pull in Kelowna for the parts. I do the wrenching myself and have no worries about good used parts in my cars/trucks. Besides it seems like good used OEM parts last longer than half the jobber parts that a person will buy.
