Forcing SEIC on 2008 F-450 w/Upfitter Sw.
I've downloaded and looked quickly through Q162R1 https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas...tml/Q162R1.pdf, and it looks like there are a bunch of ways to engage SEIC for certain RPMs and PTO loads. All I want to do is to bump up the engine RPM using an upfitter switch. Which wire in the bundle do I provide power to? It looks like there is a way to connect it so it changes RPM based on battery charge requirements - do I connect differently?

Well I guess the question is, why do you need to bump it up. are you draining electric in massive amounts, or do you need to keep the engine up to use the PTO, or do you need it to prevent coking, because the trucks do that automatically which im sure you know.
it seems that using the low amp upfitter, and connecting it to the seic wire, INPUT (VPWR)
BCPSW
PCM Pin C1-09 Circuit No. 2248 Wire Color: Purple / Lt. Green
• Applying vehicle battery voltage to this wire begins BCP.
• Engine speed is sent to 1200 rpm when all safety enablers are met, regardless of the degree
of battery charge.
• After 1200 rpm, BCP regulates engine speed based upon the degree of battery charge, up to
2400 rpm maximum.
and i think this will only work when in park, when you change gears, the show is over...
this is the one I think for amp draw.......so again, what do you need the up idle for ?
