Draining the water separator
I dont think they could have put this thing in a harder place to get to.

It can be difficult. There's a brass retrofit drain plug in the Ford inventory from the 4.5 in the LCF that works on the HFCM used with the 6.0
Part number is 6E7Z-9C082-A
List is about $16.00
It sticks out past the surface about a half inch, has a knurled edge and can be opened by hand provided you don't over tighten it on install. Before buying one make sure you have the clearance for it.
