I'm debating on how to run my chrome tips. I bought some 8" tips but thinking about taking them back and getting 18". I would like to see pics of a 04-07 f150 with tips facing 90* out toward the side, 45* out toward the side, and 45* towards the ends of the bumper. Thanks for your help. And i read that the long the tip the deeper the sound. Correct?
sorry, only got pics of the tips straight out the back.
but about the tip length vs. noise. yes, the longer the tip...and the bigger the exit hole, the louder it will be.
My Durango has about ~15" length tips with a 5" exit size. Loud is all I can say...between the tips and the Flowmasters...ye gods when I floor it and the motor is at 6,500 RPM
And it looks kinda goofy. I'm thinking about fixing it with straight out the back pipes soon.
I like how 98greensi has his pipes. the 90 degree looks better IMO. but it looks like he has something hanging to the right
I have some 9" that has a outside diameter of 2-5/8", but im thinking about going 12" long and 3" outside diameter. I put the two together to make 18" and it hit everything. If i put them straight out they hit the hitch. if i put them 45* they hit the leafs. I want mine about 1/2"-3/4" away from the bumper.
Tylus, damn those are some big tips, but the nuts were a fathers day gift from my wife, nothing in the middle on the truck to hang them on , and i broke my ankle 4 weeks ago so i havent had a chance to weld on a chain link
Edit: mine are 2 1/2 pipes with 3 1/2 tips aprox 12'' long

they are huge...and they're gonna go away shortly I'm thinking
Truck Nutz right? I had a pair of Blue ones on my 93 Bronco (pics in gallery). the wife didn't think it was all that funny, but I always got a chuckle myself
I mounted them using the reciever pin itself. there are 2 holes for the pins on the OEM reciever. a shallow hole (about 2") and a deeper hole about 5" back. I ran some dog chain and used a spare 5/8" pin in the deeper hole to hold the nutz...just be sure to not drag them while 4x4...the chain isn't all that strong.
sucks about the ankle...best of luck on it healing properly
I had my exhaust put on today i'll get pics of it later along with the whole truck. It sounds bada$$. I went with the single/ dual 1 chamber setup with 3" tips. Thanks for all the pics yall have some nice looking truck!!
