I'm trying to get the bed off my '72, but I'm having a hard time finding all the (rusty) bolts. I started out underneath trying to get the six main bolts. I got one nut off and the others just spun. I went at them from the top with a grinder. Now I've found two more back by the bumper that can only be gotten to from the bottom. Can anyone tell me how many there are total and where to find them? Thanks.
I'd say that if you got the two at the bumper and the visible ones in the floor, you have found them all. 8 total for a long bed, 6 I think for a short.
You will need to unplug the tail light wiring on the drivers side.
You don't have to worry about it bending if you need to lift it by yourself by rolling it up on it's end. 2 full grown men can lift one and walk it around. I have corner walked them by myself.
Yup, that's what I did also. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't come off. I even had the two in the very back. I started messing with one toward the middle and had the cherry picker pulling up just a bit and when I got the head the rest of the way off, I heard it pop. It's off. Now I need to figure out how many bolts hold the cab on. Thanks for the help.

yep only four, the back ones are the sucky ones cause the rubber isolators spin, so it may just be easier to cut those ones off the front ones shouldn't be to hard, a think their 11/16" size bolts
