I got it completed today. Exhaust is done and interior is 90% done.
Runs like a champ BUT, the four speed is killing it a little. 1st and 2nd are great, but third takes it down a bit and fourth is just for highway use. Still, MUCH MUCH better than the i-6!
I'll try to get a video of it running tonight but here's the engine. There are more pics of it and the new dash at the link in the sig. THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S HELP ON THIS!
thanks guys! The MSD was great in the Mustang. There I used for high RPM spark needs. Now, I'll just need it for overall better spark and fuel burn efficiency.
Here's the dash:
Here's a quick video:
The truck lags a little to start but the mustang did the EXACT same thing. Not sure why.....
Anyway.. Running video on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Thanks for compliments everyone! Here's the scoop:
I'm going to use one 16" fan in front of te radiator to act as a pusher. I might lose the flex after this.... so, no shroud. As it is, it stays at around 170 driving around town.

Conanski, I'm not sure what the overall gearing is. I haven't checked the tag to get my final drive. I want the five speed but not sre what to go with.

As for my "dashpad", I didn't want to spend $100 plus shipping on a new one so, all I did was hit the Hobby Lobby, and bought a few yards of "leather like" vinyl, and a roll of cotton padding used for stuff like quilts and things, and then just cut to fit and attached it to the original pad with spray adhesive. I then stretched it as much as possible to get a nice tight look. Now it does have a fold across the middle where the the pad comes forward for the radio section but it still looks nice. Really easy to do and it only took about a half hour. Just be sure to use a cotton padding. Otherwise, the vinly will look wrinkled on the stock pad.
I am deep in design mode now for the Interior on my 86 F150. I have some great idea's for the gauge panel already but I am looking at any and all possible options and ideas.
But back to the fuel gauge what did you have to do to get it working correctly?
Also, your truck is looking good man. Nice work on that motor.
