04 won't start

I have a stock 04 6.0 with 55k miles. It been running odd lately. Black puff of smoke accelerating with no power then kicks in with pedal to the floor. So this morning it won't start. Cranks fine with one kick of a start and thats it. Oil pressure gage goes up to normal when cranking. Please help. thanks

What does this mean?

There could be numerous reasons. Turbo, EGR, ICP, fuel, air, etc.

Load test the batteries.IMHO

sorry for the confusion but I believe the batterys are fine. It cranks very fast. I just meant that it tries to fire up the first second of cranking engine over.

No, Really test the batteries. Its happened to me before. Both batteries were weak,but would not start, and spun just fine.
