Hey guys i was just back from a town near me an seen a very nice 68 250 4x4 in really good shape for the age off the truck. Boy Ill tell you this truck was sweet. Had very little rust from what i could see. The interior was nice. It came with a rebuilt motor. Not for sure on the size. Didnt check up on it. It was for sale an had a phone number listed. That truck in that good of shape must be very rare any more. Its been sitting awhile but Im sure he wants a good price for it. It wasnt perfect. Needs a front bumper an door panel inside was missing. But all in all a real nice truck. Do you guys have any off those highboys around any more? What are they worth thats the question off the day.
Here on the West coast, ive been watching, looking at,and occasionally buying 67-72 Highboys(got 2 at this point) and ive seen them for sale on craigslist in No california and Oregon, starting at about $600-$800 for ones with lots of work needed,$1200-$1800 for decent ones that dont need too much, and if you watch ads carefully,$2000-$3000 will still get you a pretty nice one.... I paid a total of $2600 for both of mine, one has a new 390,the other a new 360,both have power-assist steering, one has a pretty nice interior and a factory a/c setup, and came with a bunch of extra parts,a pair of doors, front fender,ex. manifolds,an inbed combination toolbox/aux. fueltank, good 33" all terrains on alloy wheels. So,missing a front bumper,an inner door panel, and with a little rust, combined with our current gas prices/economy,etc.,id guess it SHOULD be a $1500-$2500 dollar truck? Does it have a 1968 grille, missing a bumper may indicate a recent accident, and often when these trucks get repaired, they end up with a different year grille assy......There are still a reasonable # of these trucks here in No. Ca,and a lot of them in Oregon, and while availability effects price, its also likely that almost everything here in Ca. is more expensive than its counterpart in Nebraska.....
