Toughest Grill Guard
We just picked up our F-450. I'm looking to offer some protection to the grill area - all those coolers look expensive. We ruled out a full front replacement because we don't want to lose the fender extensions or air dam on the OEM bumper, and don't want the added weight or cost of a full replacement.
Can anyone recommend a grill guard that is more than just for show and a place to bolt lights? My wife ships horses with the truck - I'm looking for something that will let the truck get her home if she whacks a deer, etc. I know a full replacement is the ultimate in strength, but we don't need to go quite to that level.

Can anyone recommend a grill guard that is more than just for show and a place to bolt lights? I have been happy with my ranch hand. I didnt need a full replacement but wanted something to bump gates and help with the deer also. Grille Guards

of the round tube design the ranchhand style is the strongest, with that said there are some many manufactors that make a great product that competes with the ranchhand brand cause they alot cheaper and just as strong.

there was a thread started earlier that i posted a few more companies but i cant find that thing anywhere on here. so those are the ones off the top of my head.
but if you want the strongest grille guard out there look at a Diamond B grille guard. i have seen the damage they do to whitetail deer they hit, brutal, but the truck was untouched. they use square tubing over the round tubing, stongest front end protection you'll find unless you look at a front end replacement (i know you not going that route just saying).

but any grille guard you choose make sure it is one piece welded together, no bolts anywhere (well only mounting bolts to the truck).
