I'm new to carbs, I have only owned Fuel Injected cars untill now, But what is the lever on the front of the carb for? When I have my girlfriend press on the gas, It sounds like it is spraying fuel into it or something. I was looking at aftermarket Carbs and I don't see it on them.
Aftermarket carbs have them too. It's just not always in the same spot. The accelerator pump lever is actuated by the throttle linkage which is what actually connects to the gas pedal via a cable. The cable disconnects off your old carb, and pops onto your new one, usually by a ball stud.
No offense, but just some advice based on your question and what you said - I would do some more research to get yourself familiar with carburetors before swapping one out, if you don't know what you're doing. It's not just a bolt on swap (especially if it's a stock intake), and there is some dialing in with fuel mixture, idle speed, choke index, fast idle speed, jets...the list goes on. It's not tough to learn, but you should get a handle on what you're doing first. I'm only saying this to save you time and frustration in the long run.
I understand completly, That's why I am asking questions, I want to learn as much as possible. I'm not going to buy a Carb untill I'm ready, I know it's not a bolt-on and go process, I understand that there are certain things that need to be done first. And I plan on getting a Edelbrock Intake Manifold, Or if I can ever save any money, Get a custom Dual Carb Tunnel Ram Intake Manifold made by Hogans Racing Manifolds, But they are like $3k....
