351 build up
I posted this in the engine performance section but I figured I would ask here also for better exposure. Im building a 351W for my 79 F100 pre-runner and Im wondering what you guys think about my plan. I have a freshly machined early 70s block (D1AE), and Speed Pro forged aluminum pistons with a slight dish (L2446F) that spec at 9:1 with 64cc heads. The heads Im looking at are GT40X Turbo Swirls (64cc) Im planning on running a standard stroke Scat cast steel crank and Eagle SIR I beam rods. For induction Im thinking a 650 carb, small cam. and a dual plane low rise manifold. This truck is mostly for play but I want good street manners and most importantly reliability. Also, what kind of torque/hp do you figure this combo would make? Im looking to keep the power down low to mid. This is my first build so any advice is apreciated. Thanks!
