plug inserts
i pulled a plug on my heads last night and an insert came out with the plug so i pulled 2 more but couldnt tell if the inserts were there or not when you drill them will it enlarge the holes right before the threads i couldnt tell by looking my valve cover is leaking and filled the holes with oil so it was hard to tell and i didnt want to press my luck doing anymore

no but i can try no computer at home just here at work it was about an inch long and at the very top had a cross cut like on the handle of some ratchets ect but like i said i couldnt tell if the other ones were done or just that one

The insert came out with the plug? Pulled two more and couldn't tell if inserts were there or not ?- post difficult to follow
Were inserts on the other 2 plugs when you removed them ?
Anyway if the thread on the insert has backed out and you ensure the threads in the head are not stripped get a new insert, locktight and reinsert.
Maybe I'm way off on what your really asking in your post
