thanks to everyone here, I went ahead and got my warn premium hubs delivered yesterday. I got them for 163 bucks from streetsideauto. (they had a 20% off also). So i plugged my lines at the hub with a 1/8" copper plug and cut the lines at the bracket and put in a screw with silicone on it. Now I have my 4wd back thanks everyone! So my next question is this.. My brother has the same truck with the same problem, (vacuum leak) I think the vacuum pump is the little thing along the fender with one red and one black line coming out of it. We plugged the black line on his truck and tried the A/C test and it still blows out throught he defrost. His A/C also get warm after about 15 mins but it does keep its charge. Is this pump related to the A/C? And i think I will have him plug his lines like i did to keep it simple. He is using the ford hubs for now because the still turn. (mine were froze up) Any ideas on the a/c? and is that little pump related to it maybe? thanks Jeff
Do what I did and get rid of all the vacuum lines, except the one running from pump to tank, and from tank to HVAC controls. It will make your life SO much simpler in the end. It only comes out defrost, pop the hood and look at the foot of line to find the problem. But to be honest since I did that, I have not had one problem with my HVAC controls.
Kenny if your 4wd works and your lines are still hooked up, you don't need to plug them. Just makes it so that garbage does not get in there if the line happens to get "bumped" off.
alright, thanks, i only replaced them because a deer had hit the one and broke it all up so i just went ahead an put the warns in. two warn hubs were cheaper then one oem from ford. from what i hear the warns are soo much nicer
I love my warns since I have put them in. I didn't plug the lines off at first and noticed some chirping when I had the hubs locked. I plugged the lines and it all seemed to stop.
