I have a 2003 F-150 4x4 King Ranch and i was wondering since my truck has 3 converters if i take them off and put only 2 new magnaflow converters in there will i be able to pass my emm. test and will it sound louder or deeper or let it breath better since i have true dual exhaust with 2 flowmaster mufflers and headers and an cold air intake?
Ok, you will gain no extra power by swapping the cats. Passing emissions depends on what state you are in. It will be a little louder.
If you really want a cat that flows better and sounds deeper, I would install our wide body cats. The larger chamber makes the tone deeper, and they flow plenty good enough. Item Details
It is illegal to eliminate any converters from OBD-II vehicles (federal law), so you will still have all the cats you have now. Your emission system is possibly designed to monitor the combined efficiency of all the converters on your truck, so there is a good chance you may have CEL issues down the road if you eliminate any of them.
