I have a 97 F-150. I need to turn my front rotors. When the guide pins come off of the calibers and set caliber to the side, does the rotor just slide off or do I need to remove the ball bearings? If I do need to remove the ball bearings, what is the process?
I have a 98 F150 but have not had to do that yet, but with all others I have done after caliber is off just tap on rotor with rubber mallet and should come off.
the rotors should just slide off but i have had some experience with navigators that have the same set up that the rotors can be a pain to get off especially in there are alot of miles on the truck i have had to heat up a few rotors to get them off.
Most rotors on the late models are usually worn beyond tolerances and don't have enough matierial left to turn them.
Kind of a weight saving feature built in at the factory
Good luck,,,,65
