I have a problem with my transfer case. Does not engage. I bought this truck off of my brother and he said it worked. How would you engage the transfer case? I heard you have to put it in neutral and then you can shift it. My lever does not move. I have changed the fluid and still cant engage it.
Shortly after buying my 94 I had this problem. Try getting under ur truck and soak the linkage with either WD40 or PB blaster. I did that and waited a while and used some extra force and it works fine now that its used more frequently.
What exactly is not engaging? It's not shifting from 2H to 4H? Stuck in N?
To move from 4H to N, or from N to 4L (or vice-versa), you have to push down on the lever. You should be able to move from 2H to 4H on the fly. It'll be stuck, as said above, if it hasn't been engaged in a while. Skip the WD40 for now and hit it with PB Blaster. Once it gets working, use WD40, or Liquid Wrench blue can as a lubricant.
also crawl under there and make sure a rock or something isnt lodged in the linkage, as there is a little pin that follows a slot in a piece of metal, if there is something in there.. It wont allow you to shift...
