Door Open Light Problem

Just bought an 03 250 with the 5.4 and the door open light on the dash stays on as do the dome light and the bed light. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is? Thanks, Mike

Try spraying the door latches with WD-40 and open and close them a few times.

Sometimes the switch sticks.

Where is the micro-switch that controls the light located, I have sprayed wd40 on the latches, it didn't help, and maybe if I can spray the switch it will loosen it up, thanks, Mike

The switch is at the top of the door latch inside the door. Take the can of WD or whatever you have with the plastic tube in the nozzle and aim it upwards through the latch mechanism to spray the top of the latch.

Had the same problem with my 2002, used wd40 like everyone is saying and it worked for me.

WD40 works like a charm most times. When I bought my truck I noticed the interior light staying on. It was a small used dealer and their shop guy says it's the driving light sensor that makes it stay on. OK. I asked if he had a can of WD40, went out and gave the doors a couple shots a few open and closes and boom no more light.
