Hello I am looking at a 1989 ford f250 2wd 460ci/c6 ext cab it supposed to have 92,000 miles on it and it has the banks power pack on it. What I am wondering is, what kind of fuel mileage I might expect and power gain from the banks thanks.
That would be more based on how much of it's get up n' go, has got up n' gone. The results of a Dry/wet cylinder compression test determines pressure outputs, balance and sustainability. It won't tell so much what it's gone through or MPG's it gets. It Does indicate MPG capability, if major top end repairs are impending, Rings, valves or head, and aprox. how far off. It's a good defense if you find yourself in the vehicle version of "Hot Potato,Hot Potato" where the object of the game is, when the engine stops, not to be the one holding the pink slip. Otherwise, you might not Know your playing till the games over and "Whats that clenched in your fist? Looks like..... a pink slip!" RE:
Mileage- Nat.average/yr=15k,that 89'(?80k?)= 4k/yr,my 87'(180k)=10k/yr and thats 30% lower than nat. ave. The legal definition of a 100k laps of memory by a seller is "Intention to comit fraud." 80k or 180k? Compr.test time!
Tommy6386, fill you gas tank up and run it around on the highway for most of the day on one of your days off. Then refill your tank. Take your mileage and divide that by the amount of gas that you used to get your MPG number.
As stated you have a big truck as I do ('96 F-250 460) and mileage is not going to be the best. I am averaging 15 MPG on the highway in mine. You will likely have lower gears than I do being an F-350, I may be wrong. That will affect your mileage also.
If you do not like the banks system PM me and I will be willing to trade my stock system for yours. Front half anyway. Mine dumps just after the cab.
Check out my thread "fuel mileage" for more ideas on possibly increasing MPG's as I am experimenting with various methods of increasing MPG's.
