For any warranty work done request an Oasis report. You can do this in the fist sticky thread of this forum.
Carfax is craps shoot. When I traded my 02 Nissan truck in the carfax didn't show that my truck had about $4k worth of work done when it was hit in the rear. They had to replace a bedside, tailgate, and repaint the entire bed.

Congrats! I bought mine last Feb (07)...it had 34K on it then...it has 78K on it now. It's been back to the dealership three times...paint protectant, they replaced the dash cluster because the fuel gauge wasn't reading correctly, and the ol' "deer between the headlights" problem. As a matter of fact, I bought an extended bumper to bumper warranty to 75K miles...I wasted that 1400 bucks!
Mine is one of the early ones that supposedly had all of the problems...but mine's been great. It's the 812th off the line in 03.
Get your OASIS report and in the mean time PM me and I'll send you info to get a build sheet from Ford.
I don't know if this is your first diesel or not...this is my first and I'm really happy I got it!
