A/C compressor repurpose?
Can the air conditioning compressor on these trucks (1988-1990) be used as an air compressor? Will lubrication be an issue without having oil in the gas it's compressing? I've made big industrial type refrigeration compressors into air compressors before but those are lubricated via oil in the compressor's crank case. What's the displacement on these units? Maybe it's too small to be useful...
