i just got a 94 f150 xlt supercab 4x2, yes ill prob try to mud in it haha, but if i get stuck where is the best place to hook the chain on wiht out having to mound tow hooks? i know i can hook it on the hitch on the back but im talking about the front
Maybe you could loop a strap or chain around both frame rails and then pull from the middle of that, so the pull is distibuted evenly.
I know there is a crush zone thing with the front frame rails, so you probably should stay away from that area.
I actually watched a guy hook a chain around his front axle on his 93 f150 4x4, one of the funniest things I ever saw. Especially when the axle pivot bracket ripped of the frame
id spend the 10 bucks and get a tow hoook or two just to be safe. i have seen too many people bend bumpers and stuff with out em.
'75 F-100 4x4, 4" lift
16x38.5x15 super swamper TSL
mini-spooled 9" rear end
390 w/ cam,headers,
and 4 barrell edelbrock
this explains a good way to mount hooks on 92-96 trucks/broncos the only thing is that you have to cut holes in the bumper if you mount them on the side of the frame rail instead of underneath. This is the way that I did it on mine
